Early Line for the Holiday Bowl

Considering the fact that they could score a safety and really put our offense in a bind, I'd say that's fair so far.

Being totally irrational, I have this hope that we'll just explode offensively during our bowl game. Perhaps for one day, one day only, we can see the true magnitude of what this team would have been had we been running on all cylinders. Lee will throw 4 TDs with 0 picks. Helu will run rampant. Henery will kick FGs just for fun. Paul will make diving end-zone catches and over-the-shoulder one-handers. This is my dream.

But yeah we'll probably end up scoring about 12-16.

It's a little surprising. I think our offense will play loose considering the stakes are relatively low. The question is, will our defense be there psychologically? Hard to light a fire playing in the Holiday Bowl when you were eight-tenths of a second from your first conference title in a decade.

If our defense gets up for the game, I think we can win by 2-3 scores. Otherwise, it might be a nailbiter.

Hopefully, we won't spot them 3 (almost 4) TDs like we did Phlegmson last year. Then we should be OK

I have a feeling finishing 10-4 is a high enough stake for this team and staff to not play recklessly. As for the defense, no way are they not there for this game, or any other game IMO. Off-season recruiting, and the fresh feeling of being jilted in the last game, will be enough purpose to get out there and lay as much pain down as possible.

I am going to go against everything that makes sense here... (of course, I have been stuck at home all day because of 12 inches of snow, and now drinking) but i watched the USC game. I honestly think that if we play smash mouth football with occassional play-action, we can score 24-27 points. Call me crazy, but I think we can. USC sux and moved the ball, just couldn't finish and Barfley turned it over a few times and made horrible throws.

Arizona has a lot of speed and very good db's...you attack speed by running right at it. The only thing I am worried about is that almost 50% of their team looks like Troy Polomalu with their hair, and I love Troy.

Seriously though, outside of Stanford, isn't most of the PAC 10 finesse (sp) running games instead of power? Play the fullback and run north and south.

That kind of surprises me. I would of thought more along the lines of the Huskers by 5. But it is what it is. And it really doesn't make much of a difference except to those betting.

Nebraskas line always seems to pull to their favor as the games get closer.. I expect -2 or 3 before kick off

I'm sure by kickoff Nebraska will be favored by 2 or 3 like Husker4lif3 said.
