Effect on the team?

I know we are all thrilled about what went down today, but how do you think the team is going to react? Will it pull them together or apart?

Hard to tell. Someone need to get these kids together and explain to them that no matter what happens, they are still the number one priority.

Depends on what the coaching staff does. If they don't hold them together they won't stay together. Which is very sad for our players, we don't have the staff to help them right now.

On Unsportsmanlike conduct they said that this isn't going to make the players tackle better or play better. The said the players probably don't care until it effects the coaches directly. As of now, it hasn't they will go about the business of preparing for a game as usual just be bothered by reporters asking questions.

I for one will be at the game this weekend and will be cheering my a$$ off for these kids We need to show them now more then ever that we support them...cause it could get ugly fast and they could start jumpin' ship if they don't feel the love....

I don't think it will pull them together. They now know that they are part of the death of an era of NU football, next season the program will be rebuilding.. again. How can that motivate the kids to do better? I'm sure there will be lots of "well sh#t, why should i play for these guys they're not going to be here next year anyway" And possibly players blaming themselves for Pederson getting fired.

The only way this could help right now is if Osbourne steps in and oversees the team or something.. Although, he talked to the players before the Okie State game, and.. well that didn't help much, lol.

Realistically, we won't win another game this season.

It may not directly affect them, but all the media and rumor and talk might. Maybe it will make fire them up though! Could it be what they wanted also? Seems like they are in the middle of it all. I hope the focus stays on the team and the preparation. I can't wait for Saturday to be there and cheer them on!

The team is done for the year anyway. They will play for a chance at a bowl game but nothing can make things worse. It may help if they think they can save Clownahan's job. With a new interim coach it could help quit a bit.
