Because it's customary. If you don't extend it looks bad to recruits.

If you keep a coach, the rolling extension to keep the contract at 5 years is standard procedure I believe. No different than any other year

At $3.1 Million per year Bo is/was the 29th highest paid active Division I Coach.

Using that metric, we were getting about what we were paying for.
