Emmett Johnson

150 yards from scrimmage last night will not help his heisman hopes. Regardless, it’s been a long time since we had anyone in this conversation.
I’m not trying to come at you personally but there were never Heisman hopes to begin with. He won’t even win the Doak Walker. It’s been fun watching Emmett play but you have to be on a top team to win awards, especially the Heisman.

Hopefully he gets some all B1G recognition. He has made more hay with less around him against pretty much every team we’ve played.

I like our 2 freshman, but they dont see the fiels Iike EJ does. He is a special player. I also think Ives is going to leave after this year. He is behind 2 underclassmen.
No one knew how good EJ was until he actually got to play. Really can't say how good the other backs are, they rarely play. When was the last time Ives played. Mozee or Nelson will probably be gone as well.

Not quite the same.

A lot of people saw EJ's potential, as much as it existed, last year, and were trying to figure out why the hell he was buried on the depth chart when it seemed like he was the best option. Once he was given the chance properly, he stepped up to an even higher level that nobody saw coming.

It's possible that Mozee or Nelson or Ives can step up if given a chance, but the difference is that they haven't shown anything to warrant it yet.

RB have a very limited lifespan. If he is going to be a mid round pick or higher, he needs to go. There's no one on the roster to replace him is the problem.
Hope he puts on 15 pounds before the combine because he is so lean.

I'm guessing if the combine was today, EJ would be 5'10 1/2 and around 192 lbs. Who cares about 40 if you aren't that fast.

With his style of running - twisting, turning, juking... stopping and restarting - it would be more beneficial if he was around 212 lbs at the combine. And that was about Walter Payton's exact size. Plus NFL defenses are way bigger today and I think his light weight will affect or impact his draft position. But yes he will be gone and will get drafted. Just bulk up and be an NFL body.

Mozee has 17 rushes, 10 receptions, 3 kick returns, 2 punt returns for the season. Nelson has 15 rushes, 5 receptions. Ives has 16 rushes, 3 receptions. JMO but not much of a chance to show anything
