With FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler stepping down, expect Net Neutrality to end also. With Trump coming in, I expect he will appoint an FCC Chairman who will end net neutrality. More to the point, I expect Trump to appoint someone who will re-shape the rules to financially reward himself and his cronies.

AT&T, Comcast, and dozens of other telcos, sued the FCC over net neutrality during Wheeler’s leadership. The regulator passed broad rules reclassifying internet service under the same category as telephone service, preventing web providers from forcing subscribers into “slow lanes” unless they paid more. The industry groups lost the lawsuit in June.

There's a word for forcing subscribers into slow lanes unless they pay more: EXTORTION.

The end of net neutrality paves the way for legalized extortion when surfing or making purchases on the web.

Because once internet providers don't have to abide by net neutral rules, they can charge companies and consumers what ever they want...it becomes a bidding war.

When net neutrality does end, it then becomes incumbent on individual states to enact their own state laws governing the web and keeping it neutral.

What needs to happen, is for Congress to pass a national net neutral law. But, given how Republicans are now the majority in both the House and Senate, there is almost zero chance of that happening.

Buckle up people, we are in for a severe Republican led, pseudo, free market pooh fest the next 4 years.

The only thing about that video that is inaccurate is that both previous FCC Chairmans DID keep the net neutral.

Companies like AT&T, Comcast, Time Warner, CableOne, etc...have been lobbying (PAYING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN CASH) for years to Republicans, to end net neutrality.

With Trump now set to become President, and with such a strong majority of Republicans controlling both the House and the Senate, there is an extremely high chance that net neutrality ends.

I seriously hope everyone who reads this thread takes the time to contact both the FCC and their Congresspeople/Senators and tell them that you want the net to remain neutral.
