ESPN or BSPN as I have started to call them are a bunch of Husker haters. Pelini hiring wasn't till 1:17 into the telecast and even then they said he doesn't know if he'll coach in the NC game?

Are they seriously a bunch of freaking idiots? I can;t stand any of their announcers, Berman is just abhorrent (what does he smoke a pack of Marlboro Reds every day). I mean they had some euro ESPN update on the soccer World Cup drawings before any news??

They are truly a bunch of d-bags and what else would you expect from a Mickey Rat company who televises Poker, Bowling, and Billiards???

Well, apparently, he may actually coach it. I hate ESPN, but they may be right...Osborne will have a hand in the decision if it happens...

 
I love the Huskers as much as all of you, but I never understand the hatred toward ESPN. Who cares what they think of us? Seriously, have we had a lot to boast about over the past few seasons.

In a couple years when we are once again a force in college football, we'll get the respect we deserve. Lets no be so fragile with our ego that we get upset if we don't get enough attention.

I can't stand Chris Berman and think he's the most overrated guy in the business, but if he was on the show it was more than likely NFL stuff more so than college.

Exactly. I haven't watched anything besides sports on ESPN for years, and I don't plan on trying anything else anytime soon. I can stand them to see baseball and Husker-related stuff, and the odd college football game, along with their NFL Sunday game, but that's it. No SportsCenter, none of their "analysis" shows, none of that.

OK - I'm a liar - I watch PTI and Around the Horn is OK if nothing else is on. But that's IT.

I think everyones hatred towards ESPN is a bit misguided. I personally do not like watching some particular sports casters but not the entire network. I think the problem is not necessarily that people on there hate Nebraska it is just that they are too much of homers to think of any other school then theres. I mean seriously. How often does Mark May give credit to the Big East? Or Herbstreet to Ohio State and the Big 10. Even Lou Holtz would not stop picking Notre Dame. The problem is the only "Nebraska guy" they have had on the network in years didnt blatantly favor us like all the other guys do.

dude.. chill.. there has always been and always will be hate for nebraska.. we aren't a big-time COAST school, therefore we aren't going to get the major love that all of those schools do.. hate to tell you this too, but not everyone at ESPN hates nebraska.. corso pretty much says good things about us.. and idk if you know who Dari Nokah is? but he started here in Lincoln as weekend sports anchor for KLKN (channel 8).. just because they don't say they love nebraska and don't talk about our coaching hire 1st thing doesn't mean anything.. the only thing that was publicized before the Pelini as coach rumors was the Sean Taylor incident.. and IMO ESPN being a NATIONAL network.. Sean Taylor's death was a MUCH bigger event than the rumor of Pelini to nebraska.. i didn't see anything yesterday because i was at work, but it still just seems a little childish to be getting pissed that they don't show nebraska first..

and do run with the poker, bowling, and billiards thing.. bowling and billiards actually takes a lot of skill.. try doing what they do consistently before you start knocking them again.. and poker gets the ratings.. its entertainment... ESPN is not solely a sports network.. it is ENTERTAINMENT AND SPORTS NETWORK.. entertainment.. hence anything that can entertain..

 
The thing I hate about ESPN is they take pot shots at NU at every chance they get. There is always some snide remark about NU in almost every broadcast. I don't notice them doing that to other schools. If the hatred was even all the way around then i could deal with it. But the fact NU seems to bear the brunt of everything is very frustrating. How come Mark May doesn't make fun of Miami or FSU for their falls from grace. The biased agianst NU is almost embarrasing.

Yeah damn right mark may dont lol i do have to think lou for stickin up for us thoe lol i will say that and dont get me started on the other old fart dedhoarse When game day was here in town my brother ment hurb my brother said he was kinda cool and said 2 my brother that he kinda hopes callahan leaves soon maybe that was a hint :dunno

I still haven't seen anything on ESPN about our new coach <_< ..But then, I don't watch very regularly.

 
I think if you live outside the great state of Nebraska, you quickly learn that ESPN is not biased against Nebraska. Although there might be a few people that do not like the U.

It's not ESPNEB. It's news and they figure out how to put together a show for 30min - Hour.

The espn on the web sucks in their reporting department. Big time. I dont care for their writers. But the tele show is fine. Couldnt live without it.
