Evaluating NU's title hopes

High quality stuff as usual from the BR ;) I like how every cupcake on the schedule is a predicted shutout.

And how Rickey Thenarse is an anchor in the secondary.

I do agree that the chances are mediocre at best. I mean, in most polls we're around the Top 10 and some have us on the cusp of the Top 5. Husker fans expect to stay there at the end of the season or move up even higher (because falling from preseason rankings is unfathomable). To do that though, we'll need to put together a regular season(including CCG) that allows ONE loss at most - and that one loss has a high probability of shutting us out of a MNC. This is an improvement of THREE games over last year. We lost three regular season games last year, and although some of them were fortunate for the other team, some of our own wins were too (namely, Oklahoma). All told, with the defense not bailing us out to the same degree, I think three regular season losses is a reasonable prediction, and that puts us in the 15 range by the end of the year. With a strong CCG and bowl performance, we could vault into the Top 10 by season's end.

Pretty interesting, I like that they give the likelihood of victory for each game. My question is if Nebraska is at very least a 55% favorite to win each game (50% in title game), why would they say that the chances of the team are mediocre? That said, I think they are vastly underrating Washington & Missouri. Pass the kool-aid!
