The second-quarter interception by Nebraska strong safety Daniel Bullocks gave the Huskers 30 this season, tying the school record set in 1970. Later interceptions by Pat Ricketts and Fabian Washington extended the record to 32. . . . Place-kicker David Dyches tied Josh Brown's freshman record of 14 field goals with a successful kick from 29 yards in the first quarter. Dyches missed a 26-yarder in the fourth quarter, finishing the season 14 for 21. . . . Junior linebacker Barrett Ruud set the single-season tackles record in the first half. Ruud passed Lee Kunz, who had 141 tackles in 1977. . . . Redshirt freshman receiver Isaiah Fluellen set a career high Monday with four receptions and 84 receiving yards in the first half. Fluellen's career-best 58-yard catch in the second quarter set up the Huskers' first touchdown. . . . Free safety Josh Bullocks, the national leader in interceptions, replaced Josh Davis on punt-return duty Monday. Davis returned two kicks for 17 yards in the first half before giving way to Bullocks. . . . Michigan State freshman Brandon Fields set an Alamo Bowl record with his 62-yard punt in the first quarter. . . . Former Nebraska Rush Ends Coach Nelson Barnes had a good seat at the Alamodome - about 10 rows up behind the NU bench near the 50-yard line. Barnes, the defensive coordinator at Nebraska Wesleyan, was fired last year by Solich.
