Several reports that DPE isn't back to his old form yet. Not that it's exactly surprising but hopefully it corrects itself quickly.

Benning recommended today that he redshirts this season. I'm not sure if DPE doesn't have the confidence or what, but there still isn't something quite right.

I think Benning has been saying that for awhile.
It's obviously impossible to know exactly what is going on but the general theme from guys watching practice is exactly that - just doesn't trust his knee enough to really cut/run/whatever like he used to.

 
I would give dpe at least fall camp to knock the rust off and show what he can do. He has been released for full activity for less than 2 weeks.

Yes, it is early and I'm not sure what Benning sees to say that DPE should redshirt. I just hope another year of DPE isn't wasted by having him play in only a few games.

 
Westerkamp seemed to be following Grim around today - possibly doing some extra "coaching" with Williams not around.
