Family Trophy

The game Friday just went to a whole new level for me. One of my cousins who is an Iowa fan just revealed that they had an Iowa\Nebraska rivalry game trophy made. It will be a traveling trophy that will reside with the winning family on either side of the river. Fun times!!

I think that is a great idea for families in that situation. But you realize that is basically a gift from your Iowa cousin. To reciprocate you should have a gawdawful runner up award made that the loser of the game has to display. That way he'll have something to put up in his home as well.

 
Awesome... We started this for the Minnesota game as well... Even had the guys at Rixstein seal the bottom of the cup so we can drink beer out of it....

I went to undergrad in Iowa and alot of my friends are hawkeye fans. The best man in my wedding is a hawkeye fan and we too have made up a trophy. It is an ear of corn and we are going to write the scores on the kernals through the years. We're pretty excited about it.

 
My family does a similar thing with a Minnesota Vikings Christmas ornament....its a lot of fun!
