2016 Husker Fan Day – now 30 minutes longer

Husker football Fan Day returns to Memorial Stadium this summer with a new wrinkle – it has been extended 30 minutes to two hours.

The event – Aug. 3 from 6 to 8 p.m. – allows fans to meet Nebraska players, coaches and staff members. All Husker players participating in fall camp will

be at Fan Day. The event was moved to evening hours in 2015, Mike Riley's first year leading Nebraska.



The NU athletic department plans to release more details about the event as it draws near.
Husker preseason practice begins Aug. 4 ahead of the Sept. 3 home opener against Fresno State.

Nebraska will conduct a moment of silence and air a video tribute to honor Sam Foltz during its annual Husker football Fan Day on Aug. 3.


The event gives fans an opportunity to meet players and coaches before the start of fall camp. The Huskers will open preseason practice at 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 4, and Mike Riley will conduct a press conference Aug. 3 at 1:30 p.m.

This year's fan day will expand 30 minutes to a full two hours from 6-8 p.m. in Memorial Stadium. Gates will open at 6 p.m. and fans can enter through gates 3, 11, 15 and 24.

Players and coaches will be seated at various locations on the field. Defensive position groups will primarily be located on the west sideline. Wideouts, offensive linemen and specialists will be on the east sideline. Quarterbacks and running backs will be in the north endzone. True freshmen will be located in the stands on the west side of the stadium.

This is the first year in a while that I can't go...I don't even care about the autographs, I just like walking around on the field and taking everything in.

It's especially fun to get some up close photos of the alternate uniforms. I wonder if they'll announce anything between now and next week.
