Im a Fan from the word go!!!!

I live in northeast indiana so I have people thinking im wearing ohio state crap all the time.

It always leaves a smile on my face when I can "No its the HUSKERS, GO BIG RED"

FYI: IU has started to use Go Big Red as a chant.

I knew we should have put a copy right on that!!! :box

We spend all day on a message board talking about our favorite team...I think I will let you be the judge.

These definitions are superficial and baseless.

 
I disagree with your definitions.

Fan: you support the team whether they win or lose, but you are in tune with the players and can be realistic with your expectations. You may not think you will win every game, but you WANT to win every game. Criticism is also acceptable.

Bandwagon fan: you chose the flavor of the month/year. Change teams often or you have several "favorite" teams.

Using the above definitions, I would be a fan.

 
The nice thing about being a fan is no matter what anyone else believes; no one can stop another from supporting the team of their choosing in which ever way they choose to do it. You can not watch a team or wear a jersey for 15 years straight, if you decide in year 16 to be a fan your a fan and there is nothing anyone can say.

People can having pissing contest of the length of their fandom, the years they have followed, or how many game they have been to. In the grand scheme of thing it doesn't mean anything.

I like these definitions.

I'm a fan through and through, but I am a pretty sore loser sometimes. Doesn't mean I'll ever give up on Nebraska, but I just really hate to see them lose.

Calling someone not a fan because they believe the team will lose is ludicrous. Even when TO was coach, we played some games where we were horribly outmatched and most everyone realistically thought we'd lose. How many people can actually say they thought we were going to win every game when Clownahan was coach?

Bandwagon fans are those who follow the winners. When I see people from Nebraska wearing Texas, Florida, OU, etc. hats, shirts, etc.; is when I see bandwagon fans. Anyone remember all the Husker gear out there back in the 90's? Some/a lot of these fans are/were bandwagon fans as well. A fan supports their team in the best of times and the worst of times. A bandwagon fan always supports the winners.
