Dylan is gone for the year. How do we finish? Will TJ be the savior or will we wonder - where do we go from here?

I predicted 7-5 - a lot of pressure on TJ and the OL. I see us winning at UCLA, PSU could out talent us in a hostile environment. Iowa - we know how that has gone.

If I had to put money on it, I would agree with you on the 7-5. Now, my heart tells me that if he can go and have a good game against UCLA and gain confidence...then have another week as the starter in practice, we might catch a win at PSU. IF....big IF.....we win those two, game on with Iowa.

Again, hate it that Dylan went down. Still think he gives us the best chance. However, there is a chance the remainder of the season could get really interesting.

agree - I have hopes of beating PSU especially if we do well against UCLA

I've added a poll now.

I voted and picked 8-4 because I'm always optimistic for the Huskers.

I also disagree with your comment on your last choice. Even if we go 6-6 after losing our starting QB (very unfortunate and I'm not saying I would be happy) we aren't going to be looking for a new coach.

I think we probably win 1 more. If our bye week was this week, I would predict 2 more wins. We have several guys beat up that need some time to heal. I agree with BigRedBuster above to a point. The talk of a new coach is there every week from guys like TGHusker, &$, etc.. However, I don't think the fan base as a whole will push for a change if we lose out unless it looks bad.

I agree - but that won't stop the talk. I don't think Rhule is going anywhere - PSU or Unemployment line.

I'm not pushing for Rhule to be replaced. I get very frustrated with him at times - so emotions go up and they go down. I've also said some very positive things about Rhule. In this poll - I'm saying the talk will start if he goes 6-6. I don't think he is going anywhere. Stability is the best answer and he may have to make some changes with coaches and/or get some big NIL support.

You are correct but I think it matters if the talk is coming from the vocal minority or the greater fan base as a whole. I think most realize we have a young team with potential. Rhule's comments about roster and $ make me think his hands have been tied a bit, maybe preventing Nebraska from landing some of the recruits he wanted. No clue how much there is to this but the wording in the extension seems to address this so we will see. Nebraska has a lot of talent but we can all see we are missing some key pieces. I think if he can fill those holes and then still struggles against top opponents, then the patience will wear thin. That is the position Riley is in at USC- he has all the pieces and is still struggling at times. Hence, he is in a legitimate hot seat.

I don't think 2-1 is a stretch, but I did go 1-2. I think Lateef could do better than most think. He has been in the program since January and did play a very high level of HS FB.

I don't think the boosters would have ponied up a contract extension through 2032 if there was any possibility of having to discuss a buyout on that contract with those same boosters <5 weeks later. Even if the worst case scenario happens and he turtles up and turns into Luke Fickell, he's probably here at least until the end of the 2027 season just for that reason alone.

You are correct. A friend and I at work were comparing NIL at Nebraska to other schools - it is amazing what Texas Tech and Indiana and Texas are paying. We do have a young team but we have a seasoned OL and more should be expected from them. Now, 165 yards running by EJ - much after contact, helps on the running game but the sacks given up for this line is inexcusable.

I don't disagree but the last 2 games were much improved from an Oline standpoint. How much of that has been schemed to help them, I'm not sure.

I had 7-5 in the first one, but am saying 6-6 now. That is no shot at TJ, but at the coaches as I think they go in a shell here and won't let the kid cook enough. UCLA on the road will eek out a close game, and PSU/Iowa are going to run the ball 40+ times and we won't be able to stop it consistently enough to get it done. Iowa also is going to eat the poor freshman QB alive, they are really good on defense again.
