Fire Barney and CU = "Win at all Cost"

When the Buffs pushed their record to 7-2 and climbed back in the national rankings during early November, I proved those of us who had sincere concerns about how CU conducted its athletic business were not bitter in the scandal's wake. I declared Barnett had earned a contract extension, and meant every word.
Since that vote of confidence, Colorado has gone winless, being outscored 130-22.

Maybe I got buffaloed, thinking when Barnett pledged RTD it might eventually stand for something more than return to dormancy.

Who in Colorado now will stand up for Barnett as the right man for CU?

Abandon Barnett, raise more than $2 million to buy out his contract, chase him out of town, and the Buffaloes will teach us what's most important at the University of Colorado:

Winning, at any cost.

And that would be sadder than losing 70-3.
actually, what's sad is a writer:

1. rightly calling for Barnett's head for the sake of the University

2. then flip flopping and supporting the guy because he wins

3. then accusing others of being "win at all costs" if they finally fire scum at sCUm.

maybe someone can help me with Kiszla's logic... b/c frankly, i don't get it. :bang

IMO the only thing keeping Barnett at CU right now is the money factor, CU doesn't want to buy out his contract. period.

that is the #1 reason CU didn't fire Barnett earlier this year. Good season, bad season, good season turned bad-- it didn't matter (though losing to their obsession, Nebraska, certainly doesn't help).

the buy-out $$ speaks louder than wins&losses in regards to Barnetts status with CU right now. and they did pretty much the same thing with the whole Churchill situation.

But for Kiszla, his *Firing Barnett = "shameful winning at cost"* argument, is more a reflection of his own hypocracy. partly i think Kiszla didn't want to look like he was jumping off the Barney Bandwagon AGAIN after already jumping back on it earlier this season.
