New York, NY -- There were more tootsie troubles yesterday for accused foot fetishist Joseph Weir - charged with kissing, licking and grabbing the shoes of female subway riders in Manhattan and Queens.
Weir, 23, of Brooklyn, came to Manhattan Criminal Court yesterday - shrouded in a hat, a hood and dark sunglasses, and with a black knit shawl wrapped around his head - to learn he's been indicted for assaults on 12 people. That number may rise as the investigation continues. But it's still far shy of his own admitted number of attacks.
Weir has told cops he prostrated himself at the feet of some 70 terrified women and held onto their ankles.
"I'm not worthy! I'm not worthy!" he'd tell the women. "I do hold on, but not a long time - 'til they start screaming," he allegedly confessed.
Asked why, he explained simply, "I just want to get to know them."
