Football player and Spirit Squad member arrested

B.C. can't put up with this kind of behavior, and he has been been tough in the past. I know this player has had a lot of playing time, but B.C. has to do what he has to do, even if that means dismissing the player.

I don't think it is necessary to kick him off the team. As far as I am aware this was a one time occurance and I don't see him as a trouble maker on the team. I agree punishment should be arranged, but it wasn't detrimental to the team or the team's efforts. A mistake is a mistake; as long as it doesn't continue to happen.

Hardly reason for dismisal discussion. The kid screwed up and possibly broke a couple of mirrors. Like none on here have not done things wrong after a couple of drinks. My guess is that is the situation. Who knows, until we have an outcome nothing should be done or hinted.

We have taken kids on to the team that have far worse problems than breaking a couple of mirrors. Our projected starting QB and a DB come to mind.

Quit looking for any reason to hang BC.

Hello people! Re-read the article! It was the cheerleader that was drunk and blew the .194.

Your assignment for the off season is to bone up on your reading and spelling skills.

Not that I'm condoning the behavior, but has everyone forgot about players back in TO's hay day? The Peters brothers were wasted nearly every weekend dragging some woman by the hair back to their cave. Were they dismissed? I beieve it was Tyrone Williams that got caught shooting a gun down "O" Street. Muhammad was gang banging and took a bullet in the a$$.

There have been plenty of players in NU's history that have got caught misbehaving. Very few have been dismissed other than Phillips and Farley. Part of it is that football players are held to a higher standard than most college students, and part of it is because they're expected to be animals on the field and have trouble shutting it off once off of the field. As long as the behavior isn't continually repeated, there isn't a need for dismissal.

I think I'll reserve judgement on this one. I wouldn't assume the article presents all the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident. I think the coaches are wise enough to get the scoop, weigh the evidence and information, and make a reasonable decision as to any action that should be taken.

Someone said they saw Slauson break two mirrors. Was it dark or daylight? How did he (supposedly) break the mirrors? Did he smash them on purpose or where they rough housing around and ran into them? Were the owners present? Has Slauson been trouble at the University? Even if he broke two mirrors on purpose a fine might be reasonable punishment depending on circumstances.

Not making excuses for anyone, just saying to get the facts and make the punishment fit the crime, if there was one.

In all seriousness this really sounds like a "reimburse the students via mommy and daddy's auto insurance and a few extra stadiums after practice" to me.

Uh, hey...

This is America and Nebraska is one of the States United therein.

Last I checked, arrest does NOT equal guilt.

Let's not assume facts not in evidence.

And, right now, there is no evidence. Just a college newspaper report.

Let the process work and we'll see what's what.

Also keep in mind it doesnt say how he broke the mirrors.
If I had to take a guess I'd say he did it with his tree trunk arms...........

.....but in all seriousness college kids make mistakes every once in a while. He'll learn from this and be better off for it. It was quite stupid none the less. Someone must of pissed him off reeaaaal bad.
