For what it's worth....

Fat Tire

Four-Star Recruit
Nebraska's recruiting ranking last year was 5th by rivals and 20th this year correct? Well, the average star last year was 3.12, while this year is 3.27. So maybe we didn't get the amount of players, but as a whole, this class might be stronger. Something to ponder on... :thumbs

This class was all about filling specifc needs. WR, DB, DL, OL. Not to say we wouldn't take another player, like a Kenny Wilson, if he was available. And a Steve Allen.

I think the staff did a good job of getting the type of players they set out to get.

Agree, just trying to make the ones that might not feel very high on this class better.. :restore2

i didnt even look at the average star per player compared to last year. you are right FT this year could very well be better than last year. especially the lower rated players like Will Henry, where every one feels that he should be a 4 star player. after he adds 20 lbs he will be more of a monster.

why does everybody place so much faith in the stars? trust in the coaches and if they are after somebody really hard you can be pretty sure they are a damned good player despite the 3 star ranking rivals or scout gives them.

Actually guys the only reason the avg. star was lower last year was because we had a couple extra 2-stars and a couple with no stars (Souder and Slauson), this year we only had one 2-star.
