Pensacola, Florida -- A 27-year-old woman is behind bars this morning, charged with stealing an Escambia County forklift and ramming it into deputies' vehicles.
Authorities say Melissa Bennett stole the forklift about 3 a.m. Tuesday from the Escambia County Area Transit Authority garage.
Sheriff officials say Bennett tried to hit deputies, but instead struck their cruisers.
After hitting the vehicles, the forklift was inoperable and Bennett was arrested.
No one was injured.
Bennett is charged with assault on a law enforcement officer, burglary, theft and resisting an officer without violence.
She's being held at the Escambia County jail under a $66,000 bond.
