My big deal with all of this is, it really wouldn't be the Big 12 would it? Wouldn't it be the Big 14? Thank about having to change all of that stationary!!!

No way. They probably wouldn't have to change the name though. The Big 10 is made up of eleven teams so nobody would call for a change I would assume.

I don't like it simply because it's 2 more Texas schools, which means you may as well just make the South the "Texas" and get rid of both Oklahoma schools.

Seems like a lot of effort for a little change, but I wouldn't mind it if Missouri ended up decking out to another conference.

A: The reasoning for each would be a combination of geography and the potential for instant rivalries with nearby schools. School-size and fan base is also part of the equation; it’s not just wins and losses.

 

ACC: East Carolina and Florida Atlantic

Big East: UCF and Marshall

Big Ten: Notre Dame (I’m making ND a mid-major for purposes of this question. I can’t come up with a second team, but if I had to pick one I’d take Northern Illinois.)

Big 12: Houston and TCU

Pac 10: BYU and Utah (But I’d also add Boise State and Fresno State)

SEC: Memphis and Southern Miss

They should get rid of Baylor and replace with TCU. Also get rid of Iowa St. and put in Colorado St. This is all fantasy but if a change had to be made thats what I would do.

 
they want two more south teams? how does that work?

Gotta take one in the North and one in the South if they expand. TCU is fine but I'd much rather steal Iowa and Arkansas. :)

Ditto on TCU. Baylor should never have made it in to the Big12. As for Colo. St. I just don't think the univ. is big enough, or their teams good enough to hang with a Big12 schedule. I would rather see the conference pilfer Iowa from the Big 11. They have a spare team anyway. If not them, then Utah would be a good pickup. Hell, they should be Nat. Champs in football this year!

 
They're right about the PAC 10 by the way. Get the cinderella darlings like Boise St, BYU and Fresno in a real conference, and that way USC can play some real teams in their conference.

I don't know why people are always so quick to dump Baylor. Baylor is not good at football but have good histories in basketball (both mens and womens), baseball, track, tennis, soccer and cross country. TCU also has good histories in many sports and would be ok to bring in but people are too quick to judge Baylor solely based on football. For Instance Colorado, who's only main achievement is in skiing where only they compete is a MUCH weaker candidtate than Baylor in the competition categories. Their football program is mediocre, they have a horrible basketball program (nearly as bad as us) and have NO baseball team at all.

:sarcasm Lets Add them, then move OU and OSU to the northern division...then rename the divisions calling them the "Texas Division", and "The Rest of the Universe" division...

I would love to get OU in to the North some how, though.

i say BRING IT!

you can then call the north the Big 8 Division and then call the south the South West Division.

give put Oklahoma and Oklahoma State in the north and have TCU and Houston go south.

and, oh yah, NEBRASKA PLAYS OKLAHOMA LAST GAME IN NOVEMBER AS GOD MEANT IT TO BE.
