Fresno just picked up a ringer QB

I sure wouldn't say we "rolled" Fresno that night. It was 21-20 going into the 4th quarter and we didn't even have a lead at all in the game until Enunwa's touchdown midway thru the 3rd. That game was surprisingly uncomfortable.
Huh, good point. This is a good example of how the final score doesn't tell the whole tale...and while I watched the game, I apparently forgot all about it and only had the 42-29 result to go back to.

At the same time, games are four quarters long. Ignoring who the teams are, even if one team hangs tight for three quarters, I'd still say 13 points is a pretty solid and decisive margin of victory. I think it's just that the opponent was Fresno, and they never should have even been in that game, that makes this so uncomfortable. But what constitutes a blowout is irrespective of expectations and who the teams are. Still, this was a closer game than 2013 Michigan State, I suppose, where the margin was cut from 20 to 13 with 10 seconds to go in the game.

Boise was Kellen Moore and Chris Petersen and a quietly sound defense. Those 3 factors are gone now. Boise missed its chance at getting picked up by a better league.
Actually you are quite wrong. BSU has always been good at FB clear back to when they played JUCO ball in the early 70's. From DII to 1AA to 1A they have always had good FB.

Most seem to forget that they beat OU in 2006 and that was 2 years before Moore even got there. They were also good under Houston Nutt, Dirk Koetter, and Dan Hawkins, before Peterson took over.

The Kellen Moore years just happen to be what most remember.

BSU should be decent this year probably 9-3 is a good bet.
They werent 13-0 being discussed in the national title picture though. My point was to continue success at that level they needed to be lobbying for entrance into the Pac12, not trying to weigh which conference sucks worse between MtnWest and American.

The Pac12 would never take BSU they don't match up academically. BSU was going to be joining the Big East until it fell apart. What is really too bad is the fact that if TCU, Utah, and BYU would have stayed put in the MWC they would have created a really strong FB conference with BSU, FSU and SDSU, but I can't blame them for getting out either.

The Big East deal was just that, for the Big East. Once it became The American, whi could blame them for bailing on it.

Its too bad they dont measure up academically though, wouldve been a good football fit at the time. But yeah I agree with the whole TCU BYU and Utah theory. Those three plus BSU, Fresno, Nevada, SDSU and such it really couldve become a special league.

If you are the quarterback of the best team Duke has had in.......ever. Then the dude can play. He should have beaten Manziel in the bowl game. Not that TAMU's defense was stellar.

Except he wasn't the quarterback on the best Duke team ever, he was the back up. He played quite a bit early in the year but I don't think he even saw the field in the last 5-6 games of the year.
