Gamedays.... What do you do?

Greased

Walk-on
I stole this topic from HuskerPedia, but I thought it would be fun.

What does everyone do when they first wake up on gameday?

Here's mine.

I wake up about 6:30-7:00. Shower, shave, the usual. I go put out the Husker flag and I get what I need to get done at home. Then head to the store and get a 30 pack of Old Mill Light and 2 bags of Spicy Pork Rines and 1 bag of Funions. I get to my buddies and start to set up. 2 red rotating police lights, 1 DJ Fog machine, 1 fire engine siren that is hooked to a foot pedal switch, 1 megaphone, 1 civil war style bugle, 1 4' Lil' Red, 1 6' Herbie, and some other misc things. I find my Go Big Red couzy and crack open the first Old Mill Light right before kick off. Now has kickoff happens we are all jacked up for the first 3 and out, but lately that has not happened. Then when the Huskers score, lights go off, siren is blarring, fog machine is filling the room with smoke. Now if it is an amazing play, I do a little jig and my buddy shakes his leg voilently. Then we take a shot of pucker. Then at half-time we eat and throw the football around. Then contiue the game and the craziness continues.

A couple of things happen everytime. We tell each other that the fog machine is way too much, because it fills the room and you can't see the TV and when you open the window to let the fog out it looks like a 3 alarm fire. Then we say we will go to the neighborhood bar after we chill out for awhile, we end up passing out, and then I just go home or we watch a guy movie (war, action, comedy).

I know, Old Mill Light? I tastes better than Bush Light, we love it.....

i strip down naked and slaughter a goat in the name of the Bobfather and offer up its still-beating heart up to the Powers of Blackshirts Past, Present and Future and pray that our Huskers shall crush our foes like so much chaf that the are.

and the i order a pizza, usually from Hometeam. their cheeze sticks are teh AWSOM3!

and then i watch the game.

About the only thing I like to do consistantly is get up, go buy a newspaper and any other supplies I need for the day, go home and fix a pot of coffee, and read the paper and drink lots of coffee.

Anything beyond that usually differs from gameday to gameday...

with the exception of a few cold ones during the game ;)

It depends on if I am going to Lincoln or not. So far I have been lucky and made it to all home games so far.

Going to L town:

Wake up around 8. Shower. Don husker gear. Watch some husker videos on the computer. Call DJR to commence headbutting to get pumped for the game. Leave town around 10 AM. If tailgating, park just on the other side of the pedestrian bridge. Walk over and commence tailgating. Maybe throw a football around. If my company is having a tailgate and Embassy Suites, head down there for a bit. Then hit up the best tailgate ever, the HB tailgate.

If not, park on O street. Head down O stree stopping at watering holes and/or the watering hole. Make my way towards the stadium for game time.

Watching on TV or listening on the radio:

Wake up around 8 or 9. Shower. Don husker gear. Watch husker videos on the computer. Make some phone calls to figure out where the game watching/listening will commence. Stop at the store for adult beverage canisters and some snacks. Head out to whoever is having the watch/listen party. Drink and watch the Huskers kick a$$.

I wake up for gameday on TV and then shower so I can put on my Husker jersey or shirt. After this I pray to my Nebraska shrine, which is composed of a Tony Montana figure and a Riddell Nebraska helmet. After the prayer is answered I watch the game.

Wake up for gameday whenever the sun shines through my window, a little later these days thankfully. Hang out with my wife, send her off to work - she works at the AP in Omaha and has to handle the football copy from 1-9 pm. I tell her I'm so sad she's not around on Sat. and all I can do is watch football ;) .

I see her off at about noon, then grab the tequila, pick up a 12 pack of keystone and head to my buddies' house where we've ordered ESPN gameday and watch football and drink til gametime.

We usually play a drinking game during the Husker game. The way it works is as follows:

Pick a team, NU or its foe.

If your team gets a 1st down, or scores, you give a drink to anyone else in the room.

For sacks, int's or other gamebreaking plays you give 2-4 drinks depending on the magnitude of the play - determined by the house elder.

Every time they show your team's head coach or coordinator you drink.

There's also the random player multiplier - which is the most fun. You pick a mid-range to lower level player who usually doesn't do anything of note. Depending on how lackluster the player you pick is, the elder assigns a multiplier. For example: last week I chose JB Phillips. If he scores, gets a first down etc., the drinks handed out were multiplied by 7, because he's remarkably inept.

All the while we make obscene comments and cheer like the crazy a$$holes we are. After the game we usually pass out for an hour or two and watch more football til we decide to do something else. Needless to say, Sunday's are pretty much shot.

Are you just low on money, but love tequila that much that you'll drink a couple dozen 'stones just to get that Cabo Wabo in ya.

I just head down to Lincoln park at RandyFloyd's and go to the game. Nothing exciting.

Greased that is an awesome Avatar. GI Joe rules.

I am low on money - still a grad student- but I've been a fan of tequila ever since one fateful night on spring break in mexico : :wasted

Ive been to a couple of games this year, and was able to catch a couple more on TV.

Sometimes I love grabbing a radio, taking the boat, and hitting a lake. Now that hunting season starts, Im sure I'll be listening to more of the games on radio, or catching them is some small-town dive bar :thumbs

I pretty much hunt everything that you can in E NE. My favorite is hunting the quail and roosters, but I really fell in love with deer hunting a few years back. Last year, I kind of let deer hunting fade away, and concentrated more on the birds :thumbs

I may go turkey hunting in the morning. A good friend of mine grew up just N of Omaha, and we have got quite a few turkeys right from around his old house the last couple of years.

I have hunted in NE NE for pheasants, and there are usually good numbers up there. I have also hunted in SE NE, right along the Kansas border, south of Burchard. There doesnt seem to be many birds down there anymore. I have never seen many ph. but we used to get quite a few coveys every year down there.

I used to hunt W Iowa alot, but Ive got more places in NE w/in an hour drive of my house than I can hunt in a weekend, and we usually get nice mixed bag from there. I just need to watch out for the Mountain Lions :woo

great........sounds like you are into it........i have a trip to SD planned for last week of October......then Kansas, Missouri and Iowa for Nov. and Dec.....mostly pheasants and quail with hopefully a few mallards thrown in...have a good season
