Golf Club Recommendations?

I have always golfed here and there and enjoyed the game. I've just used an older set of wilson's that have taken their fair share of abuse over the years. This summer I should have more time to get out and want to get a newer set of clubs.

I am by no means good at golf and do not need a set of graphite shafts or anything. I'm simply looking for a complete set of clubs that will be somewhat forgiving.

I am trying to spend sub $400 for a set. Do you guys have any suggestions?

I bought my first real set last year.

Guy sold me a set of Ping Zing 2 irons, plus knock-off Callaway driver and 3 wood for $380

Then I bought an Odyssey White Hot #1 blade putter for about $100

That's not really a recommendation from me since I don't golf much and I'm pretty sh*tty at it, but that's what the guy recommended to me

The driver doesn't have enough loft

I've never heard of Ping i9 model. I'm not calling you a liar, I just game Pings and am a pretty big fan and have never seen them.

I spent way too much money on the set I have, but I have Nike's. I actually went to the golf store and hit several clubs in the practice area before I chose this set. Nike Slingshot OSS irons, Odyssey White Hot 2-ball putter, and Nike Sasquatch 1, 3, and 5 wood. The Slingshot has a very forgiving area on the face of the irons that is helpful during your rounds. Maybe see if you can search the internet for an older set that's been taken care of?

it's the only thing I'm good at... short game, suck, putting, suck, the 3 woods all I got...

I can putt if there's a clown's mouth and a windmill, but on a real golf course, I putt for sh*t...

oh, and now that I know that I used to be able to hit a 3w farther than Rory can now, suck it rich dude...
