Goodbye Bill Callahan

:asshat

Classless, We are the best fans in college football so act like it. The guy is gone, its inevitable, but atleast let him leave in peace. He came in here with good intentions and it hasn't panned out the way everyone wanted. Remember how Solich was treated when he was fired. We all learned a lesson from that. I highly doubt Cally woke up one morning and said I want to see how far I can ruin this team. He obviously is not HC quality that we need but that dosen't make him a bad person. Give the man the same respect that you would want after being fired. If I didn't live 3,000 miles away I would still be showing my support for the team and I would still shake the coaching staffs hand as they leave. There's still football to be played and damit give the team, OUR HUSKERS!!! some respect.

:bonez :bonez :bonez :bonez :bonez :bonez

I ain't saying I feel bad for him, but I am saying there is no reason to have a lynching party if he is already gonna be gone. As far as the millions of dollars, we'll thats our own dam faults. After all there was no reason not to give him an extention untill this year. If there was a reason then I guess the Chancellor will be fired by the Regents next. I know theres alot of :asshat 's out there so I'm probably preaching to the choir but please respect the program if you cant respect the person.

My problem with Callahan is this.....

He tried to run this program like the NFL (not going full pads during the season)

He didn't embrace many of the Nebraska traditions (at one point he cut the walkon program down. Heck, that's what NU was built on)

He didn't embrace former players (ask some of the 97 players where their seats were for the last game) They should have been on the sideline!!

I could go on and on.

Maybe his system will work somewhere else. But in college, the learning curve for the WCO is too long. We have college kids with 4 years to play. Run an offense that they can use their talents immediately. Whether it's the spread (glorified option) or pro set, it doesn't matter. But WCO????? it's a tough fit. I bought into the system also. But, the kids looked confused and thinking too much. Just line up and play!

There is NO reason to make this a personal thing with BC...he came thinking he could do something here, not with the intention of taking down the program. I guess the people throwing stones now that he is down have never done anything that didn't go right??????

Goodbye Bill Callahan, thx for ruining the program, dont let the door hit u in the a$$ on the way out
It's people like HuskerKing130 that makes me embarassed sometimes to be a Nebraska Fan. Sure I want Callahan to go to. But I don't want it to happen until the END OF THE SEASON. He was screwed the day he said yes to this position because he was being hired by Steve Pederson. If he had been hired by T.O. people wouldn't have to anamocity that have against him now. I really think he got pulled into an unfortunate situation and I really think he loves the kids and does coach for them. He was just hired by the wrong guy to begin with and the right guy probably wouldn't have been dumb enough to bring him in the first place...
