The team finally did it. They beat a ranked team and they beat them on the road. It feels great to finally see it happen. I'm so happy for this team. One of the most satisfying wins in a long time.
It does finally feel good. Hopefully now when we are in a tight position we won't be wondering if we are going to hold on to the victory, but rather knowing we are going to win.
Don't get too hyped up because I noticed that the ESPN highlight reel isn't showing many of Nebraska's good plays or scores. (They showed Missouri's big play though.) I noticed that they made sure that they mentioned that NU didn't have much yardage going into the 4th, but they sorta failed to mention that Missouri didn't either. That's how they downplay what just happened.
Then there's this gem (note that Missouri "dominated" for 3 quarters):
The media isn't going to let the monkey off our backs. All they are going to do now is say "NU has only beaten one ranked team in the last blah blah" versus "NU hasn't beaten a ranked team in the last blah blah". They'll still make it sound terrible.
All of the re-writing of history aside, the win still feels good.
