Grade NU's non conference season

Yeah I know I saw this on big red wrap up, but there are plenty of people here who didn't see it.

Good first half against a terrible team in Western Illinois. Very average second half.

Then we have good numbers and lose to a Southern Miss team that we should beat by 3 td's.

Then we barely beat Pitt who was an ugly ugly team that we should beat by 4 td's.

2-1 should be 3-0.

I gave us a C.

gotta B from me Bcuz i think 2-1 is about what we expected. we all knew there would be kinks in the armor and didnt know when they would be exposed. well here they are. the true test will be to see how Coach C and co deal with em and adjust.

I guess maybe I expected to much from Bill but I didn't expect to lose to Southern Miss. I was extremely dissappointed. I thought we should have beat them by 21 points. Our talent level was 21 points better.

sure i didnt expect So miss to be the loss either. rather maybe Pitt.. but knew so miss wasnt going to lay down either. noreover im looking at the overall peformance instead of record. i think the So miss game was solid expct for the hot potato contest.

Pitt lost about their whole team and they showed it. Their coach will be fired after this year I predict. Southern miss had an average defense and poor offense once again. No reason we shouldn't be 3-0 no matter what offense we are running.

Considering all the new stuff we were tested, got beat, and the lose means nothing in Conference, we know we are not perfect which I think helps. We should have on them all, but the So Miss game could be a blessing in the end.=motivation

You could be right but I guess I didn't see a big amount of motivation against Pitt. It's not like we went out and played well and kicked the snot out of them.

Players all the way IMO. THere is a thread that we went in depth about this after the miss. st. game. The players simply turned the ball over too many times.

We played Southern miss not miss. state and I disagree it's the coaches fault.
