Gregory at DE and LB?

Wanted your opinons. Looks like Gregory falls back on some downs to play the pass? Am I seeing this right, or is he spying the QB?

If he is dropping back, is this the best way to utilize him instead of rushing the QB. Guy had some massive hits on the today.

He seems to cause havok when he comes out of his 3 point stance and pins his ears back. Given his size and speed it makes it hard for the opposing offensive lineman to deal with that.

Reminds me of how Jarvis Jones and Tamba Hali can be utilized.

He often draws doubles. So when he drops back that really screws up their blocking scheme.

He's been setting up behind. I'm wondering if its because in his 3 point stance he's not as effective against the run. They move him off the ball 3-5 yds it gives him some space.

Plus, like was stated, they have to account for him everywhere, it gives the opposition some fits.

I always saw him lined up as a down lineman. If he dropped back, I'm assuming it was a zone dog call. If he wasn't dropped, but just wasn't appearing to try and get upfield....likely he was told to contain the edge when Colter was in.

At the defensive end position, I am as excited about our future with Moss and Gregory as any ends in a long long time at Nebraska.

Gregory was the unsung hero of the game. I don't know how many qb hurries he had, but it seemed like he hit the qb with bad intentions on every other pass. He had a fantastic game. I only saw one missed assignment when he ducked inside and let Colter move around the end. Other than that, he was a beast

He reminds me so much of Brian Arakpo it's crazy. I don't know if there is anything from DE/OLB in a 3-4 he couldn't do.

it looked like he was spying the QB to me. But I hope we see more of this to confuse the OL, you can tell towards the end of the game their OL was very confused.

We need a dominate interior defensive lineman period. That's the key. Gregory is a beast. But those DT's are a bit soft. If we can somehow tighten that up its on. I watched the game again. We simply can't get off those blocks. Randle is really bad at it. If they can't get off, lb's left to deal. That's why we get gashed. If they get off tackles for 2-3 yd gains. We don't. Lineman get to second level. This, 6 yd gains.
