Gymnastics Support

I went to last weekends gymnastics meet against Missouri. During the meet four gymnasts, two on each side started to get the crowd to do the "Husker"..."Power" chant. I felt bad for the girls. They should be concentrating on the meet and enjoying the compeition. Why can't we have a few cheerleaders on hand do lead the crowd in cheers? Lil Red was out for the first part of the meet greeting kids and fans, but it just seems it wouldnt hurt to have a few cheerleaders and a small pep band on hand to help with the Husker spirit. And you gotta love the Huskervision intro for the girls....it sends chills up your spine! Job well done!!!!

Yeah, cheerleaders and a pep band would be cool. But I think gymnists, and really all athletes, enjoy working the crowd up.

If my school was in any way indicative those girls probably WERE cheerleaders in addition to being gymnasts in HS. Old habits die hard.
