“I had no intention of redshirting when I got here,” Hawkins said Wednesday night. “We had individual meetings before the season and coach Miles told me he saw me getting minutes.” After the injury — to the same foot Hawkins broke in eighth grade and again in 12th — Miles asked if he wanted to sit out. “I didn't want to,” Hawkins said. “He said, 'Good, because I don't want you to redshirt, either.' He had plans to play me from the beginning.” Hawkins' first action was 11 minutes at Creighton

We're getting him back just in time for a conf sched. Looking forward to seeing more of Hawkins.

That's wonderful and I think he is going to be a very good player for us. However, I question how effective he is going to be as a true freshman with very little experience at Div 1 Basketball going into the gauntlet of at Iowa, at Ohio State, Michigan, at Purdue, Ohio State again....etc.

Supposedly a great shooter, but we haven't seen it yet.

Hopefully he surprises in the manner of Terran as he gets more experience.
