Heisman Busts

Crouch was an option QB, he wasnt ever expected to go to the next level...
doesn't matter.

folks can debate about whether the heisman should be based on "best player" or "most valuable" but that's pointless really. because obviously what its actually about is how well a guy does in the NFL after he's won.

it makes perfect sense.

:sarcasm

seriously, Crouch was never expected to be as great in the NFL as he was in college. Neither was White from OU! and he didn't have to switch positions. both (to name but two) had very low expectations but are nonetheless labeled as "heisman busts".

"Heisman busts" are the dumbest such lists anyone could possibly conjure up. A guy gets drafted #1 and stinks up the field, ok, he's a "bust". but if a guy deserves the dang thing in college, it doesn't matter one bit what he did or didn't do after that.

actually maybe the only appropriate "Heisman busts" list would be a list of highly touted guys who were supposed to win the trophy and never did. thought that too would unfair. Powlus (sp?) and Manning would be a couple a good candidates. and LPhillips.
