Helu to break the 1000 yard mark this season.

I said last year that Helu would go over 1500yds. easy if he stayed healthy and he definitely would have judging by the stats...here's hoping for next year :)

Rushing for 1000 yards in a season isn't really all that impressive anymore.

Actually, it's a lot more impressive now than is was 6 or 7 years ago considering we don't run the ball 80+ percent of the time. I'm guessing through the TO and Solich years we had at least 1 if not 2 1000 yard rushers every single year.

I dont really get excited unless they go over 1500. When healthy Helu is good for 100+ a game. Maybe next year he can rip off 1500+.
Well, he's averaging 96.2 per game right now so not too far off. And of those games he's played in, would you say he's been 100% for 5-6-7 max of them? Even at that, on the 12 game regular season that puts him at 1155 for the season. And 1347 with conference and bowl games.

Right now, there are 23 players over 1000 yards on the season (Helu at 962). There are 26 averaging over 100 ypg (with at least 8 starts). Keep in mind Helu is doing this on a less than explosive offense and this conference has drastically changed in the past 10 years from run-based offenses to pass-happy offenses.

Just food for thought.
