Holiday Bowl vs. Oregon

I know everyone is projecting us in the Gator, but I think we're all jumping the gun a little.

The Holiday is still a distinct possibility. The Gator may not have announced yet because the Holiday doesn't want Ok St and is reserving the right to take us if MU looks terrible Saturday.

Looking around at some projections, CBS has Ok St ahead of us in the Holiday and MU behind us in the Alamo; ESPN has MU ahead of us in the Holiday and Ok St. behind us in the Alamo. Why couldn't we end up picked ahead of both--in the Holiday?

What are everyone's thoughts? Would you rather be in the Holiday? It's not Jan 1, but it is a better bowl. And what about facing Oregon instead of Clemson?

I doubt that will happen. There is a 99.9% chance the huskers are going to the gator bowl. The head representative for the Gator Bowl all ready discussed on a radio show that he will be picking NU to take on Clemson. Either way, to get into the Holiday bowl, their representatives will have to want us more than BOTH OK ST. and MU. I just do not see that happening at all.

Holiday has already announced NU IS NOT COMING TO SAN DIEGO. They have officially released NU to the Gator. This info was in the Omaha paper yesterday. Straight from the Holiday pres..........plus, in today's presser, the Clemson coach said they were excited about playing NU.... we are going to the Gator Bowl.

I appreciate the info. The Gator bowl web site is saying that Clemson is official and their opponent will be named on Sunday.. Yes I agree that it will be Clemson in the Gator bowl..

Some folks here have very tender feelings when the word OFFICIAL is used.

DC,

Im pretty sure both the Holiday and Alamo came out this weekend saying they have narrowed their teams to MU and OKST.

Yes, it is possible that NU could get nabbed by the Holiday, but unlikely. Other than Georgia Tech, I can't think of a team that is running the ball on same level as Oregon. I got to see them in person against Arizona St, they are scary good at times.

Nope. We're going to the Gator Bowl.

The only reason it's not "official" is because the B12 wants to wait until after the championship game for teams to accept bowl bids.

That's it.

although one of those bowls is above the gator and one below... so that is possibly b/c NU is going to the Gator??

we're gator bound though.. don't see any way around it right now.

the big 12 is in this to win guys, holding off announcements is just to avoid having another kstate/a&m deal, which was freak situation...nebraskas going to the gator, dont think that the coaches havent been told who they can start preparing for. jeeez.
