How Could Nebraska Beat Wisconsin?

The game against Illinois is over. "Let the dead bury the dead", as it has been said. The only important game now is the next one.

What does Nebraska do (or can't do) to beat Wisconsin?

My Top 5 list:

  1. Less than six penalties
  2. Less than two turnovers
  3. Keep giving Collins a chance to be more than a double team target and be aggressive with blitzing
  4. Run Armstrong more.
  5. Use a lot more two back sets...like maybe always...
Anyhow, this should be more constructive than "coulda, woulda, shoulda".

1. Nebraska's secondary shuts down any Stave passing game, not sure there is much but we have a tendency to make quarterbacks look like Joe Montana.

2. Nebraska's special teams play like they are special, flip the field to the Husker's advantage.

3. Nebraska's offensive line owns the line of scrimmage.

4. Nebraska runs the ball, milking clock from the get go, long sustained drives, score touchdowns.

5. Langsdorf to forget to come to the game.

1) Do exactly what Iowa did.

2) Remind the Blackshirts of 408.

3) Remind the offense that they're a flip phone.

4) RUN. THE. BALL.

It starts and ends with line play. We need to RUN THE BALL.

The staff bring a completely different mentality to the game.

Complete 50% or more passes.

Tommy tuck and run when no one open.

Improve in pass coverage. Vastly.

DT run stopping. (We're actually doing pretty well in this.)

1. Take what the defense gives you on each play.

2. Tell Tommy his does not need to "hit a home run" every play

3. Stop pressing the panic button, the coaches need to act like they have been there before

4. Most importantly, tell Brian Stewart to stay home that day!

If Nebraska forces stave to throw, then we have a chance. Wisconsin running backs looked pretty meh last game as well.

My 5 point plan to beating Wisconson:

1-Ozigbo

2-Janovich

3-Ozigbo again

4-Janovich again

5-Let someone else make decisions concerning when to pass, what to do on 4th down and any integral game management.
