I've been rolling this around in my head for awhile; finally got around to posting it.

I wonder how many "new faces" we'll see making plays this year?  Two different categories (that overlap).  First, how many guys who we're really in the rotation last year will make a significant impact this year?  Second, how many guys who weren't even on the team last year will make an impact?

There is a lot of interpretation in these questions.  For me, if a guy was playing a lot last year he doesn't count.  Even if he didn't do much last year and has a big year this year, if he was out there a lot last year, that's not what I'm considering a "new face".  Also, what constitutes a "significant impact" this year?  Again, people's opinions will vary but I'd say if a guy is playing a lot of snaps, he's having a significant impact on the season.  Interpret either how you will.

Here are a couple lists of guys who I think fit the categories as possibilities:

New to the Team:

Transfers: RB Greg Bell, WR Mike Williams, WR Jaron Woodyard, DT Vaha Vainuku, LB Will Honas, LB Breon Dixon, DB Will Jackson, DB Deontai Williams

Freshmen: QB Adrian Martinez, RB/WR Miles Jones, RB Maurice Washington (?), WR Justin McGriff, WR Katerian LeGrone, WR Andre Hunt, WR Dominick Watt, TE Cameron Jurgens, OL Will Farniok, OL Willie Canty (?), DE Tate Wildeman, DE Casey Rogers, LB David Alston, LB Caleb Tannor, CB Braxton Clark, CB Cam Taylor, S CJ Smith, S Cam'ron Jones, K Barret Pickering

Didn't play much last year (would also include the guys above):

Seniors: DT Peyton Newell, LB Sedrick King

Juniors: TE Matt Snyder, OL Jalin Barnett, OL Christian Gaylord, DE Daishon Neal, LB Tyrin Ferguson, DB Avery Anderson

Sophomores: RB Jaylin Bradley, TE Jack Stoll, OL Boe Wilson, OL John Raridon, LB Pernell Jefferson, LB Avery Roberts, LB Quayshon Alexander, CB Tony Butler, S JoJo Domann, S Marquel Dismuke

RS Freshmen: QB Tristan Gebbia, WR Jaevon McQuitty, TE Austin Allen, TE Kurt Rafdal, OL Broc Bando, OL Matt Sichterman, DT Damion Daniels, DE Chris Walker, LB Guy Thomas

Here's my list:

New to the Team (15):

Transfers (6): RB Greg Bell, WR Mike Williams, WR Jaron Woodyard, LB Will Honas, LB Breon Dixon, DB Deontai Williams

Freshmen (9): QB Adrian Martinez, RB/WR Miles Jones, WR Justin McGriff, WR Andre Hunt, LB Caleb Tannor, CB Braxton Clark, CB Cam Taylor, S Cam'ron Jones, K Barret Pickering

Didn't play much last year (would also include the guys above) (12):

Seniors: None

Juniors (2): TE Matt Snyder, LB Tyrin Ferguson

Sophomores(6): RB Jaylin Bradley, TE Jack Stoll, OL Boe Wilson, CB Tony Butler, S JoJo Domann, S Marquel Dismuke

RS Freshmen(4): QB Tristan Gebbia, WR Jaevon McQuitty, TE Austin Allen, DT Damion Daniels

Injury additions - not in my number but could be there: OL Christian Gaylord, OL Matt Sichterman

Was kicking around this idea, too -- not as elaborately thought out as yours, tho. :)

I'll have to think about it more, but who I WANT to see contribute is McQuitty and Domann

Somebody refresh me..I know JoJo got hurt again. How long is he out for? Was that just spring or did that include going into the season?

Just read the other day that he is likely going to be held out of contact at the start of Fall Camp.  Nothing more specific than that.

I read it as he's going to be practicing - which is obviously good - but must not be full-go yet.  So I'd say there's a decent chance he's ready to start the season but he'll be somewhat behind.

I think we are going to see a high number of new faces contribute who will have a coming out party in fall camp. Cam'ron Jones should turn some heads. Those high rep practices will quickly separate the pack and make a lot of upperclassmen better.

Here is the participation chart.  They are historically inaccurate, so take it with a grain of salt.  They do list a few others (mainly walk-ons, assuming special teams).

Highlighed the guys that played last week (21 total)

Didn't play last year - 12 - Bunch, Stoll, Allen, Rafdal, Wilson, Daniels, Newell, Neal, Ferguson, Armstrong, Mazour, Domann
