Small mistakes in a football game can pile up. Sometimes, a team can avoid getting burned by them, or make enough plays to overcome them.
That hasn’t exactly been the case for Nebraska.
The Huskers have lost three games in either overtime or the final seconds of regulation. Nebraska is 2-3, its season already in flux because of mistakes that top teams don’t make, or erase with good play. You could mix and match those plays in a variety of combinations, but we’ve picked 10 that stand out. A few are already burned in your memory. A few others you may have forgotten. But, in their way, they were costly in a 33-28 loss to BYU, a 36-33 overtime loss to Miami and a 14-13 loss to Illinois.
