Allie Havers, who just completed her four seasons with the Nebraska women’s basketball program, is getting a chance this spring to join the NU volleyball team.
She was an all-state volleyball player in high school in Mattawan, Michigan, and had college volleyball offers.
The 6-foot-5 Havers will provide another player at the middle blocker spot, where the Huskers only have Briana Holman and Lauren Stivrins this spring. Freshman Chesney McClellan will join that group this summer.
“We’re going to use the spring and see how it goes,” Cook said. “We’ll see how (Havers) likes it, and if we think she can help us.”
Havers was there when NU began spring practice this week.
