Husker Football Tickets: Tough to get or not really?

Head Coach
I saw on another board where a guy was asking about being able to buy tickets for the Wisconsin game this year. He was worried they might be hard to get.

I personally have never had an issue, either getting them for free or for face value.

What about you guys? Do you find it difficult to get them or not really? How many of you kind of just get them for free or face value with little or no issue?

I've never had issues getting them. Either online (Ebay or the visitor's website in the case of an A&M game) or at the stadium on game day. I always make it an issue to find tickets before I start any tailgating so that I have them in hand before I start having fun. I don't think I've ever gotten a free ticket though. But usually can haggle with the person selling them...although scalpers can be a nuisance.

I also got lucky once and had a friend who let me buy their entire season tickets for one year.

Depends on the game, and your wallet. If you are willing to spend, or dont care where you sit tickets are easy to come by, if you are picky about where you sit you must be willing to spend. I've personally never gotten them for free, and if the person is a donor I will generally kick in a few extra bucks to help pay the true cost of the ticket, a lot of people would be shocked to know the true cost of some tickets.

One non-com in '92 my wife and her friend went to Memorial to get tickets from a scalper. It was close to kick off so he agreed to $10. He gave her the 2 tickets and she gave him $10. I guess his jaw bounced off the pavement - he expected $10 per ticket.

You can get cheap tickets below face value to any game. Any. Just a matter of how long you're willing to wait. It wouldn't matter if it was the 1995 Huskers vs the 2001 Hurricanes, you could get a $20 ticket outside the stadium if you wait until 5 minutes after kickoff.

how about season tickets? I am sure there is waiting list, but I am in the Alumni association and donate ever year anyway.

I am surprised more people don't get tickets for free. You don't ever get them from people at work or friends?

Donating is the easiest way to get them, I know a lot of people buy them from legacy holders, IMO this is really dishonest. That seat has a value, and the school is getting short changed every time someone sells their seats instead of giving them up, (family hand downs excluded, for the most part).

More cash=better seats. Top of the world in North or south runs around 250per seat per year.

Once the page is open click on seating to get an idea of what costs for where. Also giving a certain level (say 500 per seat) wont guarantee a seat.
