Husker fullback Andy Janovich rumbles. Old-schoolers roar

Another wrinkle added by Langsdorf, week after week, he adds something new, it is working and quite refreshing. GBR
It's great that Langsdorf added the FB trap, but I would rather see him figure out how to run with the QB and IB.

One thing about these plays is that I really like how they are designed. If you look listen to the Huddle pod cast that was posted in another thread, they go into this play pretty heavily on how it is blocked and designed. The threat of the speed option to the outside with this is a thing of beauty and they ran it very well.

After watching his runs several times now, what surprises me is that they were that successful with 7-8 defenders in the box. I was expecting to see that they were in a different defensive set that moved LBs outside.

The trap is so awesome. It's design shouldn't matter if their are 8 guys in the box. Usually you are blocking the 4 interior guys with what I call lateral blocks.

Dumps, pulls, and ear hole blocks (2nd lvl)

While leaving the outside of the defense. It's quick hit, so leaving the DEs and getting up to 2nd lvl with the tackles/TEs is necessary

You don't have to be an "old-schooler" to roar about plays. Watching him make guys shudder at the thought of having to tackle him adds an attitude to our team we haven't had in awhile. Now if we can keep Freedom coming off the edge and putting fear in offenses....
