Does anyone really have a clue what the NU FB's are suppose to do this year? Or any time for that matter in the WCO. In the option the FB's role was obvious, but I thought they were suppose to catch the balll more and so on, but nothing...

What's Callahan's vision?

so far it is a postion not utlized to it's potential.......pretty obvious up to this point, not that things might not change.

Yeah, billy c has some fascination with using 2 TEs one as an "H Back" :WTH

Walsh's WCO utilized the FB quite a bit. I think we can all remember how good Rathman was in that position. :thumbs

Callahan's WCO doesn't use backs in the passing game hardly at all. I personally don't like it and don't agree with it but that's the way he runs it. Was the same in Oakland. Let's just hope he changes, though I doubt he will.

 
maybe he's waiting til we're down by 30 on the road - in those situations the fullback has proven to be a killer :thumbs

:yeah ..........i have said since day one, we NEED to get the backs (Ross, Lucky and Glenn) as receivers coming out of the backfield.......maybe this will be the case for the IUU game.........i hope

BC in the past with Raiders DID utilize the fullbacks for other than blocking. The problem is that Todd isn't the caliber of player to be used to run routes or catch passes like Walsh did with Rathman. He is grooming just that person in Glenn. Todd's staring status is just about over I believe, but it takes many reps for these new guys to be effective. Do you really think that Lucky or any other skill position recruit has lost their ability?

The most difficult hurdle for the average fan - patience!

 
well considering it is never the west coast offense... it is always bill callahan's west coast offense, like he invented the whole idea, i guess he can do watever he wants.

 
The way Todd has been playing and blocking lately, i am not suprised he is not bew used. His playing time as a FB is coming to an end. Miller will be the starting FB sometime this season unless Todd ups his performance

Actually Charlie Garner almost had a 1000 yards receiving one year. I think that would count as using the RB in the passing game.
