Husker Quarterback Weakly

Let's look back on the great day where it all started. It's 10am and walking in the back of sidetracks, hearing the songs like "we don't know the words, Berringer and Frasier, f#*k Lee Corso" to name a few. A mix that was very strange. Let's see we already discussed the cut and paste of the NU alma matter. Songs about how great it was when you had two quarterbacks that could start at quarterback and not a point guard who throws bounce passes, and my favorite Corso. Which I thought was funny considering even Trev Alberts picked KState to win. Like always Joice let the Wildcat faithful sing the fight song and even the pep band played it 3 times. As Gameday ran near only passing cars had the courage to tell the Purple fans to f#*k off. Nothing from passing fans who said "good luck." Now getting my second wind cracked another 6 pack down at the tailgate before the game and it's time to rumble.

Well we came, El talked smack, and we backed it up and dominated. The game plan was simple the first half, ball possesion and hard nosed football up the middle. Both defenses showed up and KState struck first and NU got a Sackdown. (That is when you get sacked and still get a touchdown. Then came the second half....

Well we started to throw against the supposed great DB's of NU who ended up with 3 int's but no points to show for it. NU expanded the playbook and threw also. It was the greatest performance by any pointgaurd I have ever saw. Wide open in the middle it must of skipped at least 3 times before it reached the WR. As KState began to get loud I thought well it must be that I just standing in the middle of the purple, but no I looked over the SW wall 81 rows up and saw the greatest purple sunset. Why wasn't it red you ask? That's because in the shadows was the red. It covered the ground as far as you could see. There were thousands of the red shadows on sidewalks and streets. Maybe it was the realization that History indeed was about to repeat itself. As I went down to the field with 5 min to go I pushed my way throught the red shadows exiting to get to the field. I clapped with the rest of the Purple as the Band sang "happy trails." Was this real? yes, KState gave the Huskers one of their worst losses at home, clapped for the lossing team as they walked of the field and celebrated. Now did the coaching staff show this great husker pride and shake hands after the game? Well you know that answer. So the new tradition started. Yes there is a rivalry now, yes KState fans have dignity, and yes the Kellen Houston show has a guest host.

By the way Eric, I did pick up in Lincoln, and know it wasn't your sister (we don't need to go back to that whole thing) or a Wildcat fan, it was just a distraught Husker fan looking for a BIG TIME PROGRAM, if you know what I mean.

Lincoln a drinking town with a football problem, but I just love the girls with the shirts "Who said Nebraska was flat!"
