Husker Wishbone and the Pass happy WCO

An article on Diedrick:

http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/news_story.asp?ID=13...914&hubName=cfl

but the guy that wrote it doesn't start off too well...

He was the first Canadian football recruit at Nebraska and one of the last tailbacks in the Cornhuskers' legendary Wishbone before the school switched to the pass-happy West Coast offence.
aside from yet another assumption that the WCO is somehow the fun and gun or the spread. <_<

there have been several articles from the Canadian Press making the Wishbone=Nebraska connection. One can only assume its the same writer, and the guy seriously needs Football Offensive 101.

The articles only say "Canadian Press" and don't include an email or even the writer's name- it'd be nice to know who to send an email too.

When did we run the wishbone? That musta been long before my time.
well i had to look up if or when we ever ran it. according to a website found on Google, the Huskers ran the wishbone a little in the 80s. mostly with the Scoring Explosion but even then it was barely used. That's it.

But now it appears we made it "legendary" and ran it in the early 2000s when Diedrick played. Now, that wasn't before your time, Jake! geez how could we have forgetten when we ran the Wishbone so recently!
