LINCOLN — Call it a summer of synergy for the Nebraska women's basketball team.
NU wants to build on last season's 24-9 showing, during which the young, inexperienced Huskers surprisingly advanced to the Big Ten championship game. So point guard Lindsey Moore — now a senior — has NU focusing on the ingredients that shift a team from good to great. Leadership. Chemistry. Fun.

“I want us to really connect this summer,” Moore said. “We talk a lot about synergy. So we're having fun. It comes down to business when it's season time. And now is a time for us to have fun. And really get to know each other — really start bonding.”

Last summer, the Huskers were in get-to-know-you mode. They did bond, especially in an overseas trip to Sweden. But during the season, six freshmen were finding their sea legs. Coach Connie Yori was experiencing life on crutches after knee surgery. And the entire team was experiencing the Big Ten for the first time.

This summer, every major on-court contributor returns but guard Kaitlyn Burke. Just two scholarship freshmen — Cleveland native Rachel Theriot and Wahoo guard Sadie Murren — join the roster. So now, Moore said, it's about maximizing potential — not merely discovering it.
