Special Teams Player
Well, the season is officially over by a few hours so this is as good a time as any for a whatever post like this, right?
There were a few somewhat under-the-radar signings that i thought some folks might be interested in:
--TJ Hollowell was signed to the practice squad by the Bears. Hollowell had been thrown around the league by a couple teams in a little over a month's time. check out these transactions, and all ONE guy:
Oct 31- signed by Jets off the Giants practice squad
Nov 21- waived by Jets
Nov 22- signed by Dolphins
Nov 29- waived by Dolphins
Dec 1- signed by the Bears to their pracice squad
--A couple weeks after signing TJ, the Bears signed Willie Amos as a DB to the practice squad.
--The Chargers signed Jerrell Pippens to the active roster. Pippens had been with the Bears during training camp and it was a little surprising that he didn't at least make the practice squad with them then. He had been with the Chargers last season on the practice squad and the active roster.
--Foreman was FINALLY signed by a team, the Giants need help at LB and picked him up. There was some interesting debates on one of their fan forums of whether they should have signed former-Giant practice squader TJ Hollowell or Foreman. Foreman obviously being the better player but TJ knows the Gmen's system which is a big plus this late in the season.
--Houston signed J.Lord from the practice squad to the active roster.
as is usual this time of the season, pretty much all these moves were made because of injuries. hopefully all these guys can stick with these teams into next season though.
