I actually feel that Nebraska can play with anyone

I agree. I think we can beat anyone left in our schedule.

im gonna have to say texas is a no on that. the huskers are playing much better, but texas will be too strong im afraid.

Texas isn't on our schedule quite yet
sorry i thought they played texas instead of the buffs at the end of the year.
Well, most likely we will...but it'll be after we beat sCUm.

I agree. I think we can beat anyone left in our schedule.
However, TTech is a QUICK team. At times today, it showed how much faster they are than we are at ceratin spots.
While NU can certainly beat any team left on their schedule ( and with turnovers and sloppy play could lose to anybody left too) I don't think they can play with anyone in the nation.

The Huskers have certainly improved since week #1, but remember all these games have been at home, and that's worth at least 10 points per game. With luck NU goes 4-2 the rest of the way landing at 8-3 -- but on a national basis that 8-3 won't look that good because the Big 12 is so soft this year. Not one Big 12 North team has a marquee non-conference win (does ISU over Iowa really look that great now?) and Texas is the only South team winning against nationally tough teams.

NU, and the rest of the Big 12 North, would lose 80-90% of games against teams like USC, Va Tech, Ohio State, FSU, Miami, LSU and Georgia -- they might surprise a few with hypothetical home wins, but on the road, IMO, forget it.

Where are you finding these two losses???? I see only one game that looks questionable based off of how we have progressed over the first five games. We havent played on the road yet, so you cant tell what kind of road team that we are, but that is the point. You cant say that they are a bad road team either. The showdown with the Buffs is the only game at this point where I would currently put us at even odds, but we shall see.

You are right, I wouldn't go as far as to say we could play with anyone in the nation at this point, but our known schedule is managable.

I wouldn't say we can play with anyone in the country either. However as Dave H points out, we don't have to play any of them listed above either. Pretty much, we have mediocre teams left on the schedule. When I say mediocre, I mean teams not in the top 10 in the nation. Most of the teams left though are easily in the top 40. CU and OU will be our toughest games. We saw what Miami did to CU a few weeks ago (CU's good, just not top 10 material). We're not there yet, but if we continue to make strides towards getting better we'll eventually get there.

To throw a couple other teams out there we can't play with yet: Penn State, Minnesota, and Georgia. Joe Pa has turned things around in short order due in part to a new spread option offense and some outstanding freshmen.

Once we get rid of these pathetic Solich recruits like Carriker, Bullocks and company, we'll be riding high! J/K
