I Don't Know What To Think About The Kansas Game

I really have no idea how we will match up against Kansas. I think Kansas will play us hard (beating NU could redeem their season, just like beating OU sort of redeemed ours), so I think they will play us hard & Reesing will bring his A game (although getting nailed by Suh or Crick could/will change that). I havent seen them play but from what I've heard their O-line is nothing special while we have the best D-Line in the country. Huge mismatch right there. We should be able double team Dezmon Briscoe without losing any man power. The key will be to avoid giving up the big play.

Offensively, we need to limit turnovers & find a way to punch it in the end zone at least twice (which could be do-able, Kansas' defense wont be anything like Oklahoma's) & hopefully be able to kick at least 1 field goal.

Prediction - Nebraska struggles but pulls out an ugly win.

Like I said, I really have no idea how we match up against Kansas (besides the fact that our defense should have an advantage over their offense & our offense will probably be anemic as usual, hopefully not as anemic). I think this will end up being a crazy game

I think NU will win in a respectable manner. We will not dominate, but we will control the game and the offense will look descent.

Nebraska is opening up the offense again accorind to the OWH. That's enough to make all of us nervous. Shawn Watson....with a blank check in the playcalling department.....NOOOOOOOO

:dumdum

Depends on if the offense actually leaves the locker room. The way the O-line plays, I sometimes wonder if they aren't back in the locker room when the rest of the team comes out to play.

I don't know what to think either, but from a matchup standpoint, our strength does trump their strength.

Their OL is awful. It's young and lacks talent. Briscoe and Meier are excellent, but don't sleep on Wilson and McDougal either. Those two wideouts could start for NU easily as well. Luckily, our secondary is as good as any secondary KU has seen this season.

If we can force Reesing into poor decisions, we can change the impact of their passing game. With KU, if you can avoid allowing the big play, they will struggle.

Defensively, KU's biggest weakness is lack of speed. NU can pick up big chunks of yardage with Helu bouncing to the outside and on the edge. KU's linebacker play is awful, but their secondary is good in run support.

Other than Stuckey, who is arguably the Big 12's top safety, the KU defensive backfield is average. However, most average BCS secondaries will be able to cover Nebraska's receivers. If we can establish success on the ground, we might be able to open something up.

However, with a ball hawk like Stuckey back there, I would be cautious about opening up the passing game too much and giving KU the chance to gain momentum.

The formula is there for an NU win. KU can't run the ball, they suck against the run, and their offensive line is brutal already having allowed 23 sacks this season.

Protect the football, don't give up the big play, and establish the run. If NU can do that, we can leave Lawrence with a win.

:clap

Good rundown and a good read. This is pretty much what I would write about KU. They're not a team to take lightly, but with a sound game plan on offense and the defense..... being the defense they are, we should be able to walk out of there with a win.

I think we can hold them to 14 points or less. Scoring that many points, having the patience and discipline to sustain long drives, will be the key. If we can do that we should win. If not, KU should end their schnide.

Didn't watch KU-KSU, but looking at the score KSU took care of them just fine, and by all means, i am not ready to compare NU to KSU. They go out and limit the mistakes and they will be just fine.
