This was talked about on Unsportsmanlike Conduct yesterday.

I always thought, since I was a little kid, that Nebraska and Missouri were rivals. They are the only team we play for a trophy. I'm not trying to spark any arguments, but I just need to know what Nebraskan's and Mizzou people think.

If Nebraska and Missouri are not rivals, then since we lost our annual game with Oklahoma, we have no rivals. Colorado is like a knat on a boars arse...a nuisance, but not really a serious rival, not one that most Nebraskans want to take too seriously anyway.

Maybe Cy can get the Cyclones whipped into shape so we can have a real rivalry with IS...what do you say Cy?

We used to be rivals, but when Mizzou started sucking so bad, we quit playing that game. Maybe we'll start again next year when NU may be better and MU may be worse off. Then we'd be about even.

It's too soon to say Missouri and Nebraska are rivals. Even though we have had a few down years, we dominated Mizzou for decardes. Wait until we are both competitive and in a few years I'll consider us rivals.

Are rivalries even relevant anymore to begin with? Does the Mizzou game take any more relevance then any other Big 12 game at this point? Is there a Big 12 game or more specifically a Big 12 north game that you see as an automatic win? Don't get me wrong, I get worked up when we play you guys, but I now find myself getting worked up for just about everyone we play and the significance of playing you guys is not as important to me as it once was. We have a heroic task ahead of us this week against UT and you guys as well against Mizzou, good luck to you all.

Seems like MO and KU have a long standing rivalry that's growing in significance.

Guess GBR needs a new rival since the NU/OU thing is history.

I dunno, really ANY North team could be IT. I think it depends on if NE and 1 other team start dominating the division.

I didn't even know NE/MO played 4 a trophy. :dunno

It's really hard to say because when you think about all the teams in the North are our rivals. We play them every year and we hate most of them. That's consitutes a rivalry to me.......................

I wouldn't say I hate them all equally. It's in this order, from most to least: CU, KSU, MU, ISU, KU.

:cop:

texas and oklahoma is the only true rivalry left in the big 12......

Red River Shoot Out........that's about it.

Did I miss something?

We are ALL Rivals.

(Some of us are just more friendly than others).

Now..arch-nemesis???

Arch nemesis are friends from a long time ago that have more or less equivalent powers, but also have oposing ideologies. They are therefore always fighting with each other. Examples:

- Obi Wan and Darth Vader

- The Republican and Democratic Parties

Professor Xavier and Magneto are eachother's arch-nemesis. They play chess together and have been friends for a long time, but they completely disagree about the relationship that mutants should have with humans, so they are always fighting.

Anybody know what the Martians and Venutians are up to?
