I noticed something interesting...

Why are we only pulling guards and tackles to the side we are running to when we are in a single back set?

Every time we pulled the Guard from weak side and had the guard and fullback lead off tackle or off end, we would get 6-8 yards.

Literally every time. I rewound (?) the game to be sure...

Also, if we consistently did this, wouldn't this open up the counter game much more? I have yet to see a decently set up and executed misdirection run from our Offense. If we pull the guard, and run the way he pulls every time, the D-linemen matched up is obviously going to follow after a certain point. That's when we run a counter right in to the pulling guard's vacated hole.

Maybe I have just been missing it before, maybe it hasn't worked and I am wrong... But it seemed to me that pulling an extra offensive lineman from the weak side to lead was pretty darn effective.

Any thoughts?

Very true, Husker33, I was picking up on that, too. Maybe the ground game will come out strong vs. Baylor next week.

I noticed this to. Esp. during the drive that Robinson had the ball striped away. I looked like our power run game was really working but we never use it.

You are not going to be able to run counters out of a shotgun.
That's why I said single back set...

That I formation we were running was working quite well, that's mainly where I noticed it.

Robinson looked really good at least. Can't wait to see more of him.

thats what i said in a different post:

run sh#t that works over and over and over, them BAM counter that sh#t off misdirection whether it be a boot leg or reverse or a drop back bomb
