I think more players are ready for the transistion than we think

After emotional goodbyes, transition time truly begins for Huskers
Lewis thinks players will be fully capable of making the necessary adjustments to Riley.

Those who don’t simply won’t succeed.

“I know that he’s done a great job with the talent he had at Oregon State,” Lewis said. “We’re looking forward to him as a coach. Guys are ready to move forward. Yeah, it was a tough loss, but you have to look ahead.”

Westercamp was also cited in the article about time to move forward. Hopefully time heals.

I think we are going to see a much more focused team come next year. While they were all pretty loyal to Bo, some may be seeing the big picture and what it takes to succeed at a different level. Same goals, different mentality. Lets do this.

As competitors, I'm sure these kids aren't cowering away from this challenge. They sure showed they've got plenty of heart and commitment left in the tank in that bowl game.

The change was rough on a lot of these guys, sure. Change can be scary. Change can also be really exciting. It's an opportunity to start fresh, devote yourself even harder, and make a new first impression.

You don't often get the chance to start over. If there's guys on this team who feel like they can make an impact on Saturdays, the time to go to work is almost immediately. Start focusing on improving yourself.

The great thing is, the level of competition only increases across the table because everyone hears that opportunity knocking. I think it's gonna be neat to see if any fresh faces jump up the depth chart quickly.

I think we have some great talent evaluators coming in on this staff that will be able to identify which guys need to be utilized.

Kids are impressionable. By the time spring ball is over with Bo will be a distant memory, and Riley will have won them over, focused on a new season.

“It’s the same thing as any game we’ve ever lost that close, or lost in general. We’re not a bad football team by any means. Sometimes it doesn’t bounce your way. There are way more than four teams that can play for a national championship, I promise you that. Sometimes it doesn’t bounce your way. That’s football. That’s life.
Skeptical of this, but it was a well-fought game against USC.

I still think we are little light on the talent part to be playing for the NC.. Depends on how well recruiting goes and how well the new staff does at developing what they have and what they get. Certainly not saying they shouldn't be confident, but would like to see us win one we aren't supposed to.

Keep expectations under check, work for lofty goals, and if the right effort is given, I am happy with the product. I think we will see marked improvement in the attitudes of most players. A chance to start over for some. We all make categories for people we work with.

Best case scenario is the Golden State Warriors.

Mark Jackson turned the team around, made them consistent winners, and was loved by his players.

But Jackson bristled against management, and didn't like anyone else taking credit for the team's success. He started firing good assistant coaches and hiring more subservient ones, and even banned Warriors exec and NBA legend Jerry West from practices. He created a little Bo-like bunker for himself, although he was far more charming with the media.

Nobody could believe the Warriors fired a coach as successful as Mark Jackson. The players didn't like it either, especially superstar Steph Curry. They all professed loyalty to Jackson. What was management thinking?

But management hired Steve Kerr, who hired experienced senior level assistants. The players quickly got over it and the same talent is now playing better than ever.
