… I would entertain overtures from Shawn Eichost, slow play him, and then wait for my panicking AD to ink me a new contract with a big fat raise. Do you think this couldn’t, or wouldn’t, happen? Well, I suspect it already has happened a couple times during our last two coaching searches. (Remember Houston Nutt and the private plane sitting on the runway in Fayetteville?)
Is Eichorst clever enough to avoid this situation? Or can we expect to twist in the wind for the next few weeks as a series of HC candidates engage us, and then turn us down after cashing in with a nice pay raise in hand?
