if Pederson fired Callahan

I was just thinking back to the day Pederson held his news conference to announce the firing of Solich. IF, and that's a big if, he decided to fire Callahan, do you think he would hold another dramatic news conference or just release a statement through the athletic department?

Just wondering how it would be handled.

 
you don't have to worry or wonder about it. he has tied his boat to cally, hook, line and sink-ur. we will watch as cally sinks-ur (our program) then pud will come out at next contact time and say we had great recruiting under cally, but it is time for the program to go in a different direction.

political bullsh#t, meaning i f'd up and hired the wrong guy and we will try again! even with a new D coordinator (that part may happen) we'll be stuck with cally's f'd up schemes and play calling.

 
I do not believe that Pederson will get rid of Callahan this year, but I expect him to do something like he did in 2002, bring in new offensive and defensive coordinators, and probably some others OL, DL, Secondary. That may patch things up enough to get by until Cally's contract is up. Or, who knows, maybe Callahan will flourish with a fresh new set of assistants.

 
The OC really doesn't matter to Callahan. Hes going to continue to run his ridiculously complicated and crazy plays, no matter what any of his assistants say. Its simply too complicated for a 1-2 year player. Callahan needs to completely change his offensive scheme, and success might follow.

he might not have a choice. he might be forced to give up control of the O..... solich had to.

 
naw, he will continue with his stupid O bullsh#t. the OC here is like the VP, pretty face, does a few cameos for the press and non of his policies make any difference or are even considered. what a lame job here at NU, offensive coordinator, geeeshhhhhh.

 
An example of what firing coaches does: When Mangino first came to KU, he enlisted some assistant coaches that did not have a clue what they were doing. We lost to BU last year and other teams including NU. Im thankful that Fightin Mangino had the juevos to can their butts and hire some new people. This year we are doing much better even beating our rival K-State. I know our first 4 opponents werent good at all, but we still kept them contained on the defensive side of the ball.

Your DC Cosgrove easily shouldve shut down Ball State. Central Michigan whooped Ball State this weekend by about 20 points? We had Central Michigan and kept them in check. I believe if you just fire Coz then the team may improve much. It cant hurt anymore than giving up 2000 yds already this season! If the NU defense gives the offense better field position and turnovers, I believe Cally will function better and there will be no need to fire him. I say fire Coz and see what happens. If the team still looks like crap, it may be time for Cally to go.

First of all, Pud will have to fire Cally to save his own neck. But there will be no news conference. It will be announced through a mass email with the subject line "You have received an e-greeting card from a certain Steve Pederson!"

firing Coz will only help the defense. the offensive schemes and play calling won't change, we will still suck on offensive, as long as cally is here!

Actually, the offense, with the exception of the MU game, has really looked pretty decent. By that, I mean that they've been able to score points. I am concerned about a lack of running game--but I think if they brought in a new OL coach that might change, as well.

Hmm, I saw no touchdowns against Mizzou's porous defense, offense looked pretty bad in that game. Offense has looked impressive only in 3 out of 6 games: Ball State, Nevada, and Iowa State. Wake was iffy.
