This changes nothing. I'm still going to throw my students out the window if they ask what if questions.


Wow. You must not be a big fan of science or inquery in general. What kind of teacher hates hypothetical questions and curiosity about possibilities?


I don't know what level spurs1990 teaches, but it's been my experience that most of the "what if...." questions have little to do with "science or inquery [sic] in general" and seldom are they motivated by "curiosity about possibilities".  That is, other than the possibility of sidetracking a teacher in order to waste class time and avoid doing any actual learning. The old saying: There are no dumb questions.... is a myth.
